Abstract

A subscriber communication system which includes a base station 104 in a network with a plurality of subscriber stations 41, wherein control information is sent between the base station and the subscriber stations over a radio control channel RCC at a frequency which is chosen by the base station 104 among a plurality of predetermined frequencies. The base station 104 sends control messages, which include a unique network number, over the radio control channel. Each subscriber station 41 processes the network number in the control message received via the radio control channel to make it possible for the subscriber station to process the control message in accordance with whether the subscriber station 41 is located in the same network as the base station 104. The time adaptation of the message sent by a subscriber station 41 across a given connection channel between a base station 104 and the subscriber station is improved after the connection channel is initially established. Both direct-current signal information and sound-data signals are sent over an assigned channel between a virtual line, which links a base station to an exchange, and a line interface, which links a subscriber station 41 to a subscriber terminal 115, 116. <IMAGE>
