Abstract

Disposable material comprising a wear-resistant permeable layer 2 of a nonwoven fabric made up of bonded filaments and an absorbent layer 4 of microfibres, which permeable and absorbent layers are connected to each other, with spaces between them. The material is characterized in that the bonds 6 pass through the permeable layer 2 and join the fibres in this layer to the fibres in the absorbent layer 4. In this way, water, for example from a user's feet, passes quickly through to the absorbent layer 4 from the outer wear-resistant layer 2. The binding areas 6 not only allow the rapid absorbency, but also form "pockets" which increase the thickness of the material. <IMAGE>
