Abstract

The invention concerns an arrangement for fixing a tool in the required position in a bore. The arrangement comprises a tube-shaped radially expandable body 1,3 made up of a number of "backs" 3 joined together and arranged radially in star formation. The "backs" are linked together by flexible elements 2 which have a cross section at right angles to the body's axis, and which basically have the shape presented by the difference in the areas of two sectors of a circle with the same angle of centre, whose outer and inner surfaces connect with corresponding surfaces on the "backs" 3. <IMAGE>
