The present invention relates to a night storage box made of impact-resistant plastic, the locking system of which consists of a key-operated, notched locking latch, the notch of which in the locked position engages the locking pin on the lid of the box.

The disadvantage of such known plastic lids is that they do not withstand such hard handling as dropping the lids from the night tank hatch onto the hard floor of the vault. The fall can be several meters. The disadvantage of sheet metal sheets known per se is that they weigh up to three times the weight of a plastic box. The sheet metal socket is easily scratched and thus becomes ugly over time.

The object of the invention is to eliminate the above drawbacks. The night storage box according to the invention is characterized in that a support plate protrudes upwards from the box part of the box, with a notch at the top which prevents the locking pin and thus also the lid from moving laterally and downwards. Experiments have shown that this type of locking system does not give up even during hard handling and the chest remains closed despite the handling. When the support plate is still a separate plate which is fastened to the box part with a lock fastening nut, it can be made of a very durable polycarbonate plastic.
