Abstract
Description
1 79890 Sähköinen lämmitin moottoriajoneuvon jäähdytysjärjestelmää varten Tämä keksintö koskee sähköistä lämmitintä moottori-5 ajoneuvojen jäähdytysjärjestelmässä olevan nesteen lämmittämiseksi käsittäen jäähdytysnestejärjestelmään liittyvän yhdysputken rinnalle sovitetun imu- ja poistokanavilla varustetun lämmitinkotelon, joka on jaettu imu- ja poisto-kanaviin liittyviksi kammioiksi väliseinällä, joka sallii 10 kammioiden välisen virtauksen ainoastaan kotelon imu- ja poistokanavista etäämpänä olevan pään läheisyydestä, ja poistokanavan puoleiseen kammioon sovitetun lämmitysvastuk-sen.The present invention relates to an electric heater for heating a liquid in an engine-5 vehicle cooling system, comprising a heater housing with intake and exhaust ducts arranged alongside a connecting pipe connected to the coolant system and divided into flow only in the vicinity of the end furthest from the inlet and outlet ducts of the housing, and a heating resistor fitted in the outlet duct side chamber.
25 Johdannossa kuvatussa, tunnetuntyyppisessä lämmitti- messä termosifoni-ilmiötä on vahvistettu sovittamalla läm-mitysvastus erilliseen koteloon, joka on muotoiltu pystysuunnassa korkeaksi, jolloin jo itse lämmittimessä syntyy voimakas termosifoni-ilmiö. Several different types of heaters have been developed for the motor vehicle coolant system, which are installed either in the engine block or in the piping or hose of the cooling and heating system. Often the problem is the lack of space at the installation site, which prevents the heater from fitting into the block or piping. In this case, the heater must be installed 20 elsewhere in the machine or similar room and connected to the motor via hoses. The rotational force exerted on a liquid by the thermosiphon phenomenon depends on the difference in height and temperature of the warm and cold liquid. A heater installed in a hose or pipe alone will not always provide sufficient fluid circulation and the heater will not work. In the heater of the known type described in the introduction, the thermosiphon effect is amplified by fitting the heating resistor to a separate housing which is shaped vertically high, whereby a strong thermosiphon effect is already generated in the heater itself. However, even with this structure, there are some problems that can lead to overheating and damage to the heating resistor. In general, part of the reason for this situation is that the heater has not been able to be installed in a location in the coolant system where adequate coolant flow is guaranteed to the intake duct and outlet duct 2 79390 rises sufficiently far from the heater to allow coolant circulation. Particularly in the piping connected to the radiator, the problem may be the obstruction of the flow of coolant after the thermostat 5 has closed the flow to the radiator when the engine is cold.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a heater with which problem situations such as those described above can be avoided. This is realized by a heater 10 according to the invention, characterized in that the suction channel is connected to the connecting pipe at a point separate from the outlet duct and in the flow inlet direction, and that the outlet duct is provided with a pipe nozzle projecting away from the suction duct. In this way, the heated coolant leaving the outlet duct can be moved sufficiently far from the opening from which the cold water is introduced into the heater housing. Such a structure is further advantageous due to the fact that when the vehicle is in normal operation, the coolant flow 20 does not have to pass through the heater but can take place as a substantially unrestrained bypass.
Seuraavassa keksinnön mukaista sähköistä lämmitintä kuvataan yksityiskohtaisemmin viitaten oheiseen piirustukseen, jossa 25 kuvio 1 esittää kaaviollisesti moottoriajoneuvon jäähdytysnestejärjestelmän periaatteellisen rakenteen, ja kuvio 2 esittää keksinnön mukaisen lämmittimen esimerkinomaisen suoritusmuodon kaaviollisen rakenteen. The electric heater according to the invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 schematically shows the basic structure of a motor vehicle coolant system, and Fig. 2 shows a schematic structure of an exemplary embodiment of a heater according to the invention.
Kuviossa 1 on esitetty kaaviollisesti moottoriajo-30 neuvon jäähdytysnestejärjestelmä. Kuvion 1 kaaviokuvassa katkoviivoilla merkityillä renkailla on merkitty keksinnön mukaisen lämmittimen 1 5 mahdollisia asennuspaikkoja. Figure 1 schematically shows a coolant system for a motor vehicle 30. In it, the coolant is led from the engine block 20 through the thermostat 21 and the hose 22 to the cooler 23, from where it is led via the hose 24 to the water pump 25 and from there back to the engine block 20. The second bypass to the coolant is a route 35 through the coolant. 79890 to the space heater 27 and back to the motor block 20. The latter circuit thus takes care of the heat supply to the interior. In the diagram of Figure 1, the rings marked with broken lines indicate the possible installation locations of the heater 1 according to the invention. Accordingly, the heater can be installed in either of the water hoses 26 or 28 of the indoor heater 27 and also in the lower water hose 24 of the radiator 23 in the vicinity of the water pump 25.
Kuviossa 2 on esitetty keksinnön mukaisen lämmit-10 timen esimerkinomaisen suoritusmuodon periaatteellinen rakenne. Kuvion 2 mukainen lämmitin 1 käsittää lämmitin-kotelon 4, joka on väliseinällä 7 jaettu kahdeksi kammioksi 5 ja 6, jolloin kammioon 6 on sovitettu sähkökäyttöinen lämmitysvastus 8. Väliseinä 7 on muotoiltu siten, että se 15 sallii jäähdytysnesteen virtauksen ainoastaan kotelon 4 pohjan läheisyydestä, jolloin taataan oleellinen korkeusero lämmitysvastuksella 8 varustetun kammion 6 jäähdytysnesteen tulo- ja poistoaukkojen välille. Koteloon 4 on sovitettu liittymään yhdysputki 2, johon on tehty kotelon 4 kammioon 20 5 avautuva imuaukko 9. Figure 2 shows the basic structure of an exemplary embodiment of a heater according to the invention. The heater 1 according to FIG. a substantial height difference is ensured between the coolant inlets and outlets of the chamber 6 provided with the heating resistor 8. Adjacent to the housing 4 is a connecting pipe 2 having a suction opening 9 opening into the chamber 20 5 of the housing 4. The discharge flow from the chamber 6 of the housing 4 takes place via an outlet duct 3 which is inserted as a nested pipe 12 with respect to the connecting pipe 2. This ensures that the heated coolant leaving the heater 25 can no longer return to the heater through the inlet 9. The heater according to Figure 2 is connected as part of the coolant system by hoses 10 and 11 connected to the ends of the connecting pipe 2. Thus, the flow through the heater housing 4 forms a parallel flow path to the main coolant flow through the connecting pipe 2 30. Thus, during the run, when the heater 1 is not in use, the coolant-liquid flow can mainly bypass the heater 4 via this connecting pipe 2. While the engine is not running and the water pump 25 is thus not running, the coolant 35 passes through the heater housing 4, whereby its substantially high shape and vertical installation ensure that a sufficient thermosiphon effect is generated to cause the coolant to circulate. If desired, the outlet duct 12 can be extended by a hose or pipe 11 5 connected to it with a smaller diameter diameter pipe.
Yllä keksinnön mukaista sähköistä lämmitintä moottoriajoneuvojen jäähdytysjärjestelmässä olevan nesteen lämmittämiseksi on kuvattu vain yhden esimerkinomaisen suoritusmuodon avulla ja on ymmärrettävää, että siihen 10 voidaan tehdä useitakin kotelon muotoilua ja rakenneyksityiskohtia koskevia muutoksia poikkeamatta kuitenkaan oheisen patenttivaatimuksen määrittelemästä suojapiiristä.The electric heater according to the invention for heating a liquid in a motor vehicle cooling system has been described above by means of only one exemplary embodiment and it will be appreciated that several changes may be made to the housing design and structural details without departing from the scope of the appended claims.
