Prior to DE patent 941 060, 873 828 and 906 800 and CH patent 524 022, ventilation systems for water closets with separate ventilation channels from the seat space to either a drain pipe or a separate outlet pipe are known. Also known are device solutions in which a separate vacuum cleaner is made to operate when the circuit breaker operates so that the seat is adapted to press the circuit breaker on.

The disadvantage of the known device solutions can be considered the complexity of the constructions. Separate ductwork is required, so the equipment must be specifically designed for the seating arrangement in question. The fan is located just inside the seat of the toilet and is adapted to suck through a flexible outlet pipe. The discharge pipe is further adapted to pass specifically through the water trap into the 35 sewer channels. In order for the climate of the sewer to escape from the sewer through a flexible hose, the hose must be equipped with a non-return valve which allows air to flow only towards the sewer pipe.
