The invention relates to a livestock brushing and hair cutting device comprising a motor and a flexible drive shaft driven by it, which drives a rotating brush, and a vacuum cleaner, the associated suction hose of which terminates in a nozzle surrounding the brush. Such a cattle brush is known and has proven to be very useful.

In addition to brushing, the hair of the animals is also cut from time to time. With current hair cutting machines, hair cutting produces a wide variety of problems. Dirty and dusty hair is difficult to cut, which causes the blade to get bored quickly. The cooling air of the mower causes dust released from the animal to spread into the air of the barn or stable, which is uncomfortable, especially for allergy sufferers. The cut hairs spread and prick uncomfortably on the haircut.

These problems can be avoided with the cattle brushing and hair cutting device according to the invention, with which the animal can first be thoroughly cleaned dry and the hair can then be cut without spreading dust into the environment.

This is achieved on the basis of the features of the invention set out in the appended claim.

In the following, an embodiment of the invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which Fig. 1 shows an overview of a livestock brushing and hair cutting device to which a brushing nozzle is attached.

The device according to Figure 1 comprises a motor 7 which rotates the brush 1 in the suction nozzle 2 via a flexible drive shaft 6. The vacuum cleaner 4 is connected to the nozzle 2 by a suction hose 3. The vacuum cleaner 4 is associated with a dust bag 5. transferable from one animal to another along a wire.

Figure 2 shows the operation of the brush nozzle in more detail. The brush 1 is connected directly to the end of the flexible transmission shaft 6 and rotates in the nozzle housing to which the suction hose 3 is connected. The nozzle housing 2 with its brushes 1 forms a nozzle body 10 which can be detached from the hose 3 and the shaft 6. The attachment and detachment can take place, for example, with a wing nut-driven clamping ring.

The brush 1 rotates on the counter hair and the brush nozzle is moved to the counter hair. This brush nozzle can be used to thoroughly clean the hair before surgery.

For hair cutting, the brush nozzle 10 is removed and replaced by the cutting nozzle 11 (Fig. 3). The rotational movement of the drive shaft 6 is converted by a mechanism in the housing 12 into a reciprocating movement using the upper blade 13, the lower blade 13 being fixed. The operating mechanism and the operation of the blades thus correspond to the operating principle and structure known per se from hair cutting devices. The blades 13 are comb-shaped so that hair gets between the blades. The suction hose 3 is connected to the suction channel 14 of the nozzle, the mouth opening 15 of which opens immediately above the hair cutting blades 13. The cutting takes place in the nozzle in a strongly inflowing air which draws the detached hair into the bag 5 of the vacuum cleaner 4. This air flow also raises the hair so that it is in a suitable position for cutting. This substantially facilitates hair cutting. Because the hair can be cleaned with the same device before cutting, premature dulling of the cutting blades is avoided. Also, the work of the trimmer is more pleasant, because the sharp pieces of hair cut diagonally do not fly over the trimmer.
