The present invention relates to a rainwater gutter extension consisting of a gutter part, fastening members located at the longitudinal edges 5 of the gutter part for fastening the extension to the outer surface of the end area of the gutters to be connected a transverse elongate plate body spaced a short distance from the inner surface of the trough portion and fixed to the inner surface of the trough portion so as to form two connecting grooves opening towards the ends of the extension piece for the ends of the troughs to be connected.

CH patent publication 435 650 discloses a sheet plate of equal strength, the outer surface of which has a strip of material fixed by welding, which in turn is fixed to the inner surface of the trough part. In the solution 20 according to GB patent publication 1 138 881, the plate body has parts of different strengths and the plate body is fastened at its thick points to the trough part by means of screws or by means of a form-locking device.

The known solutions presented above are relatively expensive in terms of manufacturing costs, because the plate piece 25 is assembled from different parts or made of a material with parts of different strengths.

The object of the present invention is to provide a more cost-effective piece of plate which nevertheless functions properly. The invention is characterized in that the plate body has two adjacent plate strips which are connected to each other and to the inner surface of the trough part by means of a U-shaped bend formed in the body and transverse to the trough part. Since the cross-sectional shape of the plate body is provided by a bend, the plate body 35 can be made from a single piece having a uniform material thickness, which reduces the manufacturing cost compared to the known solutions. At the same time, the extension also becomes very tight.

By placing a layer of elastic sealant on the bottom of the joint grooves and inserting the end of the trough into this sealant layer, the advantage is obtained that the sealant is present on both the inner and outer surface of the trough and further between the edge edge of the trough and the bottom of the joint. This allows the tightness between the extension and the chute to be maintained despite the possible movement of these parts relative to each other.

The extension according to the invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of an extension according to the invention at a distance from the extension, situation as a partial longitudinal section.

Figure 1 shows an extension piece 1 made of sheet metal and two angled troughs 2 and 3 to be joined together, as well as made of sheet metal 20, with inwardly bent longitudinal edges to stiffen the structure. The extension is slightly larger in cross section than the gutters, so that the gutters fit inside it. For example, an elongate metal plate piece 6 is attached to the inner surface of the extension piece by welding, which is located in the transverse direction of the extension piece in the middle half of its length. The invention can, of course, also be applied to gutters with a curved cross-section.
