Abstract

This invention relates to a method to obtain vegetable fibers from vegetable specimen xylematic tissue meristematic cambial cells. The method implies the identification and isolation of meristematic cambial cells from the xylematic tissue, their later cultivation and multiplication and the induction of fiber-like structures, in order to finally produce fibers. The process of the invention surprisingly allows one to obtain vegetable fibers in laboratory conditions through isolated xylematic tissue cambial cells, offering an alternative to the production offibers from plants.
