Abstract

The present invention discloses a non-invasive method for detecting at least one health parameter for a patient. The measurement is based on certain nanoagents, such as hyaluronic acid, present in the tissue near the skin Surface of the measured person. In the method, a selected part of the skin surface of the patient is optically sensed by at least one optical sensor (107). Thereafter, output signals of the at least one optical sensor (107) are processed. The presence of nanoagents is detected on the skin of the patient through a reflection measurement and analysis, and a health parameter is determined based on the detected presence of the nanoagents. The optical measurement can be performed by a probe configurable on a finger of the patient. A temperature sensor (101) and an ECG electrode system (103) may also be applied on the skin of the patient. The applied light can be ultraviolet, infrared or visible light, and the light source can be e.g. a laser source or at least one LED. A presence of a precursor of a cancer or other types of malignant tumors can be detected early with the method and system according to the invention.
