Abstract

The crane further comprises a counterweight arrangement (24) coupled to the column structure and pivotable with the boom, and further comprising a counterweight arrangement adapted to act as a counterweight. In one example, the horizontal distance between the counterweight arrangement and the column structure is adjustable. In one example, at least one power unit (20) is disposed in the counterweight arrangement. The propulsion system may include at least one of the following: an electric generator (188), an electric motor (210), or an internal combustion engine (200), to provide the power required for crane operations.
