Abstract

In a method for producing rectified x-ray images for dental or orthodontic diagnostics, a x-ray source (28) is introduced into the oral cavity (34) of a patient (36). A x-ray detector (32) is arranged such that it extends at least about a part of the mandibular arch of the patient (36) from the outside. Subsequently, the teeth of the patient (36) are x-rayed, wherein the x-rays impinging on the x-ray detector (32) are detected. On the basis of the x-rays detected by the x-ray detector, a digital x-ray image is generated. According to the invention, the coordinates of a plurality of measuring points located on the teeth (38) are measured by means of a measuring device (50; 64; 73; 50a to 50d; 106a, 106b, 66a, 66b; 110a, 110b; 130). Finally, the digital x-ray image is rectified using said coordinates.
