Abstract

The invention relates to an arrangement for threading a tail in a fiber web machine, the arrangement including: Formation means (18) for forming a tail (10) from the fiber web; A cutting device (13) for cutting the tail (10); Tail threading equipment (16) located after a holding point (14) for releasing the tail (10) from the surface of a machine element (12) and transferring forward the tail (10) thus cut; wherein said cutting device (13) is located prior to the holding point (14') preceding said tail threading equipment (16). The cutting device is located in such a way that tail (10) cutting takes place in an unsupported section of the tail (10) between two holding points (14). The invention also relates to a method for threading a tail in a fiber web machine.
