I
J o [0019] According to certain embodiments, coupling of the fastening system to a N hollow profile can take place guickly and easily by inserting a first part partially into a closure or endcap of a hollow profile. Subsequently a second part can be coupled to thefirst part by a sliding motion. The blind system is connected to the second part via at least one string.
[0020] According to certain embodiments, not only a distance between an upper profile of the blind system and a lower profile of the blind system is adjustable, but also a — distance between the upper profile of the blind system and an upper profile of a glazing unit can be selected and/or a distance between a lower profile of the blind system and a lower profile of a glazing unit can be selected. In other words, it is for example possible to select the position of the blind system such that the blind system does not cover a specific area of a transparent sheet between the upper profile of the blind system and the upper — profile of the glazing unit. This is for example advantageous in the Nordic Countries, where the sun may be very low for a period of time. According to conventional blind systems, the blind has to be lowered from an upper part of a transparent sheet to the lower part of the transparent sheet in order to protect a person from the direct light of the sun, and thus the transparent sheet is completely or nearly completely covered with the blind in such a case. This may lead to a very dark room or space behind the blind. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a distance between the upper profile of the blind system and the upper profile of the glazing unit can be selected, for example increased. Thus, it is possible to cover a lower area of a transparent sheet of a glazing unit, while simultaneously an upper area of the transparent sheet of the glazing unit is not covered, and — thus light can pass into the room or space behind the blind and at the same time a person is protected from the direct light of the low sun.
[0021] Further, some parts of the fastening system can be made of plastic material and be produced by injection molding, for instance. Thus, it is possible to manufacture a S large number of fastening systems in a specific period of time and the production of the 1 25 — fastening systems is cost efficient. > [0022] According to certain embodiments, the fastening system can serve at least z partially as a closure for the end of the hollow profile, thus preventing liquid from flowing I into the hollow profile. 2

The first part 2 comprises a base 7 which is substantially L-shaped. Further, the 3 25 — first part 2 comprises a protrusion 8 which is configured to be partially inserted into a > closure 12 or endcap of a hollow profile (not shown) of a glazing unit (not shown). The protrusion 8 protrudes from the L-shaped base 7. 7Additionally, the first part 2 comprises a coupling portion 4 to which a second part (not shown) of the fastening system can becoupled. The coupling portion 4 of the first part 2 comprises two step-wise coupling surfaces 15. The step-wise coupling surfaces 15 are arranged on opposite sides of the coupling portion 4. The first part 2 may be, for example, made of plastic material by injection molding. The first part 2 may be a single piece or made of at least two separate pieces. For example, the first part 2 may consist of a first piece comprising the base and the protrusion and a second piece comprising the coupling portion 4, wherein the second piece can be attached to the first piece. In FIGURE 1, a first part 2 in the form of a single piece is shown.
[0032] In FIGURE 2 another schematic perspective view of a first part 2 of a — fastening system in accordance with at least some embodiments of the present invention is illustrated.
[0033] In FIGURE 3 a further schematic perspective view of a first part 2 of a fastening system in accordance with at least some embodiments of the present invention is illustrated,
[0034] In FIGURE 4 a schematic perspective view of a fastening system 1 in accordance with at least some embodiments of the present invention is illustrated. The fastening system 1 comprises a first part 2 configured to be coupled to a profile 3. The first part 2 comprises a coupling portion 4. Further, the fastening system comprises a second part 9 configured to be coupled to the coupling portion 4 of the first part 2. The second part 9is further configured to be connected to a blind system 5 via at least one string 14.
[0035] The second part 9 can be coupled to the coupling portion 4 of the first part by sliding the second part 9 relative to the coupling portion 4 of the first part 2 as indicated N by arrow A. The second part 9 comprises a step-wise recess in two opposite side walls 16. > The step-wise coupling surfaces 15 of the first part 2 are configured to engage with the 5 25 — step-wise recesses of the second part 9. The second part 9 is configured to be coupled to a = blind system 5 capable of at least partially covering a transparent sheet 6 of a glazing unit + 11. The glazing unit 11 typically comprises an upper hollow profile 19 separated from a 3 lower hollow profile (not shown) by the transparent sheet 6. © I [0036] The first part 2 is attached to a profile 3 of the glazing unit 11. The profile 3 — is typically a hollow profile. In FIGURE 4, the profile 3 is the upper hollow profile 19 of the glazing unit 11. When the second part 9 is coupled to the first part 2, the blind system 5is fastened to the fastening system 1 via the at least one string 14. The at least one string 14 may be, for example, connected to an upper profile 17 of the blind system 5. Typically, a position of the upper profile 17 of the blind system 5 relative to the coupling portion 4 of the first part 2, and thus to the profile 3 of the glazing unit 11, is adjustable. In other words, a distance between the profile 3 of the glazing unit 11 and the upper profile 17 of the blind system 5 is adjustable, i.e. can be varied by a user. The distance between the profile 3 of the glazing unit 11 and the upper profile 17 of the blind system 5 can be selected by varying the length of the at least one string 14. The blind system 5 typically also includes a lower profile (not shown). A distance between a lower profile (not shown) of the glazing — unit 11 and the lower profile of the blind system 5 may also be adjustable, for instance.
[0037] As can be seen, the first part 2 is substantially L-shaped. The first part 2 is configured to be partially inserted into a closure 12 or endcap of the upper hollow profile 19, i.e. a protrusion (not shown) protruding from the base of the first part 2 is configured to be inserted into a closure 12 or endcap of the upper hollow profile 19. The closure 12 or endcap can be a part of the fastening system 1 or a part of the profile 3 of the glazing unit
11. When being installed, the closure 12 or endcap partially or completely covers an opening of the upper hollow profile 19. Thus, liquid is not allowed to pass into the upper hollow profile 19. The first part 2 may additionally serve at least partially as a closure of one end of the upper hollow profile 19. Of course, the aforementioned is also valid for a — lower hollow profile (not shown) of the glazing unit 11. The closure 12 or endcap is shown in FIGURE 8.
[0038] In FIGURE 5 a schematic view of a blind system 5 in accordance with at least some embodiments of the present invention is illustrated. The blind system 5 is S coupled to a glazing unit 11 using four fastenings systems 1. S 25 [0039] The blind system 5 comprises an upper profile 17 and a lower profile 18 > separated by a blind. Further, the blind system 5 comprises two fastening systems 1, which z are configured to be coupled to an upper hollow profile 19 of the glazing unit 11 at I opposite ends 13 of the upper hollow profile 19. Additionally, the blind system 5 3 comprises two fastening systems 1, which are configured to be coupled to a lower hollow > 30 — profile 20 of the glazing unit 11 at opposite ends 13 of the lower hollow profile 20. Each fastening system 1 comprises a first part 2 comprising a coupling portion. Each fastening system 1 further comprises a second part 9 configured to be coupled to the couplingportion of the first part 2. The second part 9 is further configured to be connected to one of the upper profile 17 or the lower profile 18 of the blind system 5 via at least one string 14.
[0040] According to certain embodiments, not only a distance between the upper profile 17 of the blind system 5 and the lower profile 18 of the blind system 5 is adjustable, but also a distance dj between the upper profile 17 of the blind system 5 and an upper hollow profile 19 of the glazing unit 11 can be selected. Instead or in addition, a distance d> between the lower profile 18 of the blind system 5 and the lower profile 20 of the glazing unit 11 can be selected. Therefore, it is possible to select the position of the blind system 5 such that the blind system 5 covers any defined area of the transparent sheet 6.
For example, it is possible to select the position of the blind system 5 such that the blind system 5 does not cover a specific area of the transparent sheet 6 between the upper profile 17 of the blind system 5 and the upper profile 19 of the glazing unit 11. Thus, it is possible to cover a lower area of the transparent sheet 6 of a glazing unit 11, while simultaneously an upper area of the transparent sheet 6 of the glazing unit 11 is not covered.
— [0041] In FIGURE 6 a schematic perspective view of a glazing unit 11 comprising four fastening systems 1 in accordance with at least some embodiments of the present invention is illustrated, wherein a blind system 5 is coupled to the fastening systems 1. The fastening systems 1 are coupled to each end 13 of an upper hollow profile 19 of the glazing unit 11 and to each end 13 of a lower hollow profile 20 of the glazing unit. Between the — upper hollow profile 19 and the lower hollow profile 20 a transparent sheet 6 is arranged. Two side edges 10 of the transparent sheet 6 are free. The transparent sheet 6 may be, for example, a window or a glazing of a terrace or balcony. By means of the strings 14 a user may adjust the position of the blind system 5, for example in order to at least partially S cover a lower area of the transparent sheet 6 with the blind. Adjustment of the position of ro 25 — the blind 5 takes place by varying a length of each string 14. Each string 14 may be, for ™ example rolled up within the upper profile 17 of the blind system 5 or the lower profile 18 = of the blind system, respectively.
a I [0042] In FIGURE 7 a schematic perspective view of a detail of a glazing unit 11 3 comprising a fastening system 1 in accordance with at least some embodiments of the > 30 present invention is illustrated, wherein a blind system 5 is coupled to the fastening system
1. The fastening system 1 comprises a first part 2 being partially inserted into a closure 12or endcap of an upper hollow profile 19 of the glazing unit 11. Additionally, the first part 2 comprises a coupling portion 4.
[0043] The first part 2 may consist of one single piece or from two or more separate pieces. For example, the first part 2 may comprise of a first piece which can be partially inserted into a closure or endcap of the upper hollow profile 19. Additionally, the first part 2 may comprise a separate second piece which can be coupled to the first piece. The second piece may then comprise the coupling portion 4, for instance.
[0044] The fastening system 1 further comprises a second part 9 configured to be coupled to the coupling portion 4 of the first part 2. The second part 9 is attached to an — upper profile 17 of a blind system 5 via a string (not shown). The blind system 5 is capable of at least partially covering a transparent sheet 6.
[0045] In FIGURE 7, the second part 9 is slideably coupled to the coupling portion 4 of the first part 2 of the fastening system 1. In other words, it is possible to slide the second part 9 of the fastening system 1 relative to the coupling portion 4 of the first part 2. The — first part 2 and the second part 9 are configured to be attached to each other by sliding the first part 2 into an indentation or recess comprised by the second part 9. The first part 2 may further comprise a securing section 21 preventing the second part 9 from being removed from the coupling portion 4 of the first part 2, for instance. Thus, the second part 9 can be fixedly attached to the first part 2 of the fastening system 1. — [0046] In FIGURE 8 a schematic perspective view of a closure 12 or endcap of a profile 19 of a glazing unit 11 is illustrated. The closure 12 or endcap is coupled to the profile 19. The closure 12 or endcap comprises an opening 22 into which the protrusion 8 N of the first part 2 can be inserted. Therefore, the first part 2 can serve at least partially as a 3 closure of the profile 19. 2 25 — [0047] It is to be understood that the embodiments of the invention disclosed are not E limited to the particular structures, process steps, or materials disclosed herein, but are I extended to equivalents thereof as would be recognized by those ordinarily skilled in the 3 relevant arts.
