Abstract
The acid addn. salt of 2-(7-indenyloxymethyl)morpholine of formula (I), for use as an anti-depressant, is made by (a) reaction of indenyloxy-propane of formula (II) with an amine of formula H2NCH2CH2Z, in which Z is halogen, in presence of a base, to give a mixt. of 2-(7-indenyloxymethyl) and 2-(4-indenyloxymethyl)morpholine isomers and (b) treating the mixt. with an acid or base, in less than the stoichiometric amount to isomerise the latter isomer.
