Abstract

The tubular insulating sleeve is prepared ready for fitting to an electric cable by inserting an elongate member (16) into the sleeve so that the elongate member projects from or terminates adjacent one end of the sleeve (e.g. abutting a mandrel). The elongate member is of smaller dia. than the internal dia. of the sleeve. - The sleeve is then progressively rolled upon itself, starting from its one end. The rolled up portion of the sleeve gripping member and the remainder portion of the sleeve are free to slide along the elongate member. A tubular carrier (12) may be disposed within the sleeve before the rolling process. The carrier slides on member as the rolling progresses and the roll is finally rolled onto the carrier. (2/2) GBAB- GB2144516 B The tubular insulating sleeve is prepared ready for fitting to an electric cable by inserting an elongate member (16) into the sleeve so that the elongate member projects from or terminates adjacent one end of the sleeve (e.g. abutting a mandrel).
