Abstract
The starting point is a fibrous mass of diversified structure in homogeneous layers formed by fibres of different gauge and with different densities and it is subjected to an impregnation with polymers containing free functional groups with acid and/or basic character which are capable of reacting chemically, and then they are activated to form macromolecules through the reaction of certain free functional groups, with the subsequent crosslinking and retention of the latter in the gaps in the fibrous mass, this mass subsequently being treated with the retained polymers by means of finishing operations which utilize the remaining reaction capacity of the free functional groups up to the corresponding final stabilization of the fibre compound with incorporated polymers.
