Abstract

The invention relates to a headlamp of the type comprising a reflector, a light source, a cut-off screen and a convergent lens. It is characterised in that the occulting screen (E) is made of a partially translucent material, in that its upper edge (10 31a, 32a) defines the cut-off and is advantageously lined by a transition zone (16 31, 32) having a coefficient of light transmission greater than the rest of screen and in that the rest of the screen possesses, at least in its upper central portion, a coefficient of light transmission which is modulated as a function of the illumination to be obtained.
