Abstract
N-(3,4-dimethoxy cinnamoyl) anthranilic acid of formula (I) is made by reaction of anthranilic acid formalide of formula (II) with 3,4-dimethoxy cinnamoyl chloride of formula (III). Its anti-allergic activity is shown by inhibition of passive cutaneous anaphylaxis in rat and rabbit and inhibition of histamine liberation induced by antigens in human leucocytes, without affecting the level of cyclic nucleotides.
