CONSISTE EN EL TRATAMIENTO TERMICO DE LOS MINERALES SULFUROSOS CON DESPRENDIMIENTO DE GASES QUE CONTIENEN ANHIDRIDO SULFUROSO A PARTIR DE LOS CUALES SE OBTIENE ACIDO SULFURICO EN UNA INSTALACION DE CONTACTO; Y CALENTAMIENTO DE LOS GASES DE SECADO PROCEDENTES DE LA INSTALACION DE CONTACTO CON CALOR EN EXCESO QUE SE RECICLAN PARA EFECTUAR EL SECADO. LOS GASES FINALES DE SECADO SE CALIENTAN A UNA TEMPERATURA SUFICIENTE PARA PRODUCIR LA EVAPORACION DEL VAPOR DE AGUA EN EL SECADO; Y LA TEMPERATURA DE SALIDA DE LOS GASES HUMEDOS DE SECADO SE MANTIENE POR ENCIMA DEL PUNTO DE ROCIO DE DICHOS GASES. TIENE APLICACIONES PARA EL SECADO DE MINERALES SULFUROSOS Y CONCENTRADOS DE MINERAL PREVIO A SU ELABORACION METALURGICA.
