Abstract

A wide based semi-submersible vessel comprising a watertight buoyant deck (52), a plurality of stability columns (20) extending downwardly and outwardly from the deck, means (30) connected to the lower ends of the stability columns for providing a wide buoyant base, and means (64) for discharging and taking on ballast.
