Abstract
EP--31250 A In open end spinning staple fibres to form a yarn, a continuous strand is introduced into the spinning-in zone so that some fibres are joined with the yarn being formed either side of the merger point of the continuous strand with the spinning-in zone. - The staple fibres from opener are guided into the nip between co-rotating drums, one (1) of which is a suction drum drawing the fibres into the spinning-in zone. The continuous strand is introduced into the zone by tube extending close into the nip. The strand combines with the fibres in the nip, i.e. in the spinning-in zone and the resulting yarn is withdrawn and wound up. - The staple fibre is well bonded into the core and sheath of the yarn. The staple fibre may completely enclose the continuous strand core.
