Sheets carrying images or signs for use in the dry transfer process are made from a transparent polystyrene or translucid paper support sheet by applying a coat of varnish to prevent adhesion of the subsequent ink coating, the varnish coat following the outline of the ink and extending slightly beyond it. The foresaid ink coat is then applied over the varnish, by offset printing or xerography with thickness of 10-50 microns, in the desired colour and with addition of a polymer resistant to tension or traction. Drying is carried out after application of each coat.
