Abstract

The presence and the quantity of glycosylated proteins in biological fluids are determined by a method comprising removing from the sample interfering factors such as carbohydrates, incubating the sample in a hot acidic environment, separating the liquid and solid phases so found and determining carbohydrate in the liquid phase. A reagent kit comprises oxalic acid, trichloracetic acid and thiobarbituric acid.
