Abstract

The invention relates to a self-advancing support for use in steep deposits at an over-tipped or inclined working face. According to the invention, the hydraulic props (15, 16) inside the individual support units (A, B, C, etc.) are offset relative to one another in the advancing direction so that they form a prop row (18) running roughly parallel to the working face in the basic position of the self-advancing support. The individual support units can consist of support halves which are connected to hydraulic props offset in the advancing direction to form a self-advancing unit and in each case preferably form a lemniscate shield half.
