Abstract

A heat protection shield (1) is primarily used for protecting a starter or other electrical machines in motor vehicles. The shield or the screen (1) has at one end two pins (5) which preferably consist of plastic, engage in corresponding holes (9) in the machine or its holder (4), and are arranged parallel to the axis (10) of the machine. A mounting lug (6), which can be mounted or subsequently fitted on the other side of the screen (1), is provided with an opening (11) through which a threaded rod (12) can be guided, which rod at the same time connects the individual parts of the machine. This lug (6) can be fixed in the axial direction by means of an additional nut (14) which can be screwed onto the threaded rod (12).
