Abstract
Electrical battery for a miner's cap lamp has an inner common cover to seal the cells (at least two) and a common outer cover. The space between the two covers is utilised for the pole connections and for a safety valve for each cell. The cell separators are made of microfine glass fibres plates and separators absord the electrolyte which is required in reduced amounts because the cells are designed for operation above atmospheric pressure. The outer cover protects all parts against damage. The battery can operate in any position and requires little maintenance.
