Abstract

An apparatus for mounting sprocket wheels (i) on and removing them from the free-wheel units (b) of bicycles, comprises a first tool having an elongated metal plate, provided with a plurality of recesses 2, 3, 4, 5 shaped to receive and mate with elements of a free-wheel unit, and cooperating with at least two locking pin members 7,7'. A second tool comprising a handle 11, is provided at one end with a crescent-shaped body 12 having a length 13 of bicycle transmission chain pivotally connected to one end thereof. The recesses 2 to 5 in said first tool are apt to mate with the outer profile of each element. Around each hole 6 is a projection 9 to pilot the element, via a bore thereof, into the recess. The second tool also comprises, a pair of chain links 14, 15 linked by a further link to form an articulated parallelogram to engage an element.
