Clavo de seguridad caracterizado por ir rajada la espiga hasta cierta altura (y biseladas las puntas interiormente, especialmente), en dos o más ranuras, pudiéndose formar también el clavo por medio de dos o más alambres unidos íntimamente en un solo cuerpo desde cierta altura y con cabeza remachada y puntas biseladas, con objeto de que se abran las ramas en que va subdividida la espiga, al encontrar distintas resistencias en las vetas de la madera o material en que claven, pero siempre produciendo un anclaje que evite el que el clavo se salga o afloje, produciendo un ensanchaje casi perfecto.
