Abstract

1. Procedimiento para el recubrimiento homogéneo de pigmentos de dióxido de titanio con polímeros orgánicos, caracterizado porque una dispersión de dióxido de titanio en agua se mezcla con una solución acuosa de polímeros conteniendo grupos carboxilo, y el polímero se aplica sobre el pigmento, después de lo cual el pigmento revestido se separa en forma conocida del medio acuoso, se lava, se seca y en caso dado se moltura, empleándose como compuestos polímeros aquellos de fórmula general **(Fórmula)** donde R1 independientes entre sí, significan hidrógeno o metilo, R2 significa hidrógeno, alquilo o bien cicloalquilo con 1 hasta 8 átomos de carbono, M significa cationes de sodio, potasio, R3 significa alquilo o bien cicloalquilo con 1 - 12 átomos o, preferentemente hidroxialquilo con 2 hasta 6 átomos, 1 es una parte, m es de 0,2 - 1,5 partes, n es 0 ó 0,1 hasta 0,5 de las partes de moles monómeros, en cantidades de aproximadamente un 0.05 hasta 2,5% en peso, preferentemente un 0,2 hasta 0,8%en peso, referido al dióxido de titanio, que se agrega en solución acuosa alcalina a la suspensión de dióxido de titanio.
