Abstract

Un dispositivo refractario de fibra cerámica para aislar un tubo dentro de un medio ambiente de elevada temperatura, que comprende: a. un segmento de cuerpo arqueado que tiene primeros y segundos extremos y que se extiende a lo largo de la pieza, b. un par de protuberancias arqueadas cada una de las cuales tiene primeros y segundos extremos, extendiéndose dichas protuberancias a lo largo de menor longitud que el segmento de cuerpo (a) conectándose integralmente el primer extremo de cada protuberancia a una porción del primer extremo del segmento de cuerpo, c. un par de rebajes que desplazan en ángulo sus protuberancias correspondientes (b) en sentido opuesto desde el segmento de cuerpo (a), extendiéndose dichos rebajes de forma circunferencialmente y longitudinalmente igual a las protuberancias; y d. un vacío que desplaza arqueadamente cada protuberancia y una porción integral correspondiente del primer extremo del segmento de cuerpo una de otra de forma que cuando una segunda pieza refractaria de fibra cerámica se hace girar 180º desde la primera pieza alrededor de un eje lateral, y las dos piezas se alinean longitudinalmente y se unen, las protuberancias de una pieza se reciben íntimamente en los rebajes de la otra pieza y el segmento de cuerpo de cada pieza se recibe íntimamente en el vacío de la otra pieza formando por ello una unidad refractaria resistente a las vibraciones, resistente a la escoria, termorresistente, de poco peso, sustancialmente cilíndrica y de enclavamiento para cubrir y aislar un tubo sin medios de unión adicionales.
