Abstract

Storage stable polyurethane or polurea prepolymers containing free isocyanate groups contain a combination if iron III acetyl acetonate and/or the iron III salt of an alkyl acetoacetate together with at least one preferably anhydrous acid soluble in the starting and final products. The prepolymers avoid the problems of allophanate or biuret formation during storage, and they may be used in the preparation of foams, elastomers, varnishes or coatings.
