Abstract
Preparación de aminoglicósidos. En particular, la invención se refiere a un método de preparar pseudotrisacáridos que tienen actividad antibiótica. Los antibióticos bien conocidos de los tipo de la Kanamicina, Gentamicina y Apramicina son amino-pseudotrisacáridos. Los antibióticos conocidos exhiben actividad contra una amplia gama de bacterias. Sin embargo, están llegando a ser muy generalizadas cepas de bacterias que presentan resistencia a estos tipos de antibióticos. Esto constituye un problema importante debido a que las cepas resistentes de bacterias tienden a producir toxinas más peligrosas que las cepas no resistentes. La presente invención se basa en el descubrimiento de que por sustitución al menos parcial de los anillos normales de estos antibióticos por anillos desoxi pueden obtenerse compuestos que tienen una actividad notablemente mejorada cuando se comparan con los correspondientes antibióticos conocidos contra tales microorganismos resistentes.
