Abstract

Mfr. of a motor fuel filter element comprises stacking discs of sulphurised or H2SO4-treated paper. The discs are obtd. by cutting the paper to give discs near whose edges the fibres composing the paper are cut across and lie bare. The edge zones are treated with a hardenable, water-repellent, material such as a silicone, which then penetrates into the core of the discs.
