Abstract

Apparatus adapted to move along a track with at least two bearings on the latter defining a reference base and a sensor for measuring with respect to this base. A carriage (N) determines the reference base between the bearings (p1, p2) and carries, vertically in line with the bearing (p2), a Cardan joint C to which is connected the measurement arm (M) resting on a sensor (p3). Movement sensors, mounted between the point (P) and the ends (T, U, V, W) of a pair of stirrup pieces, allow simultaneous measurements of the levelling and of the straightening. Application to the inspection of railway tracks.
