Abstract

Un procedimiento y un aparato de sulfonación de un compuesto orgánico líquido sulfonable con un gas que contiene SO3 mediante una reacción en dos etapas, cuyo procedimiento se caracteriza porque la primera etapa de reacción se lleva a cabo introduciendo en sentido ascendente el compuesto orgánico y el gas que contiene SO3 en paralelo desde la parte inferior de una multiplicidad de tubos de reacción verticales de la primera etapa; se recogen los productos de reacción formados en la primera etapa de reacción y se enfrían haciendo descender una corriente combinada de los mismos a través de un cilindro refrigerante y después se lleva a cabo la segunda etapa de reacción introduciendo en sentido ascendente los productos de reacción combinados y un gas nuevo conteniendo SO3 en paralelo desde la parte inferior de un solo tubo de reacción de la segunda etapa, recuperar los fluidos procedentes de la segunda etapa.
