Abstract
A process for the hydroalkohilation of mononuclear aromatic hydrocarbons comprising contacting a mononuclear aromatic hydrocarbon and hydrogen with a catalyst comprising a support of y-type zeolite exchanged with rare earths bearing an activator comprising at least one of the ruthenium elements, iridium, rhodium and palladium, said catalyst having been calcined in an atmosphere containing molecular oxygen at a temperature of about 250º to 600ºC before use.
