Abstract
Process for the polymerization of pyrrolidine, characterized in that it comprises the steps of polymerizing a mixture containing alkaline catalyst, pyrrolidone and solvent, to form a reaction product mixture comprising poly-2-pyrrolidone in particulate form, alkaline catalyst and solvent; and before the poly-2-pyrrolidone is agglomerated appreciably, treating said reaction product mixture with an acid to reduce the ph of the resulting mixture to a value of about 5 to about 8.
