Abstract
An improved process for distilling a mixture obtained by extraction of oilseed materials and constituted by components soluble in an aqueous organic solvent, to recover aqueous organic solvent in two fractions of relatively high and low concentrations, where the mixture to be treated is passed to a evaporation process with multiple effects, which has at least two evaporation zones, to form liquid and vapor streams, in which the improvement consists of: a) withdrawing a stream from a first evaporation zone, b) putting in contact a vapor stream, remove said first rectification zone, c) condense vapors withdrawn from said first rectification zone and return to said rectification zone a portion of the resulting condensate, such as liquid reflux, the remaining portion constituting a part of said high concentration fraction, d) withdraw a liquid stream from the bottom of said prime rectification zone, e) introducing said liquid stream from stage (a) into a second evaporation zone, where said liquid stream is divided into liquid and vapor streams; f) removing said divided liquid stream from said second evaporation zone g) contacting said steam stream, removing said second evaporation zone, refluxing liquid in a second rectification zone, h) condensing at least a portion of the vapors removed from said second rectification zone, and refluxing said second rectification zone and a portion of the resulting condensate, the remaining portion of said condensate constituting a portion of said high concentration fraction, i) removing a liquid stream from the bottom of said second rectification zone, said liquid stream constituting a portion of said low concentration fraction, j) contacting said liquid stream, withdrawal from said second evaporation zone, convapores in a separation zone ; k) removing a stream of liquid, comprising said soluble components, from said separation zone and l) condensing vapors withdrawn from said separation zone and removing the condensate resulting from said process, as part of said low concentration fraction.
