A process for the preparation of semi-rigid polyurethane foam, characterized by reacting a) a polyisocyanate, b) a polyether-polyol with a molecular weight of 2,000-10,000, c) 1-5 parts by weight of water, d) 1- 6 parts by weight of urea and/or ticurea, and e) a crosslinking compound with at least 3 reactive hydrogens per molecule with respect to the isocyanate and with a molecular weight of not more than 1,000, in an amount of 5-25 parts by weight of the polyether polyol and the amount of polyisocyanate is chosen so that an isocyanate index of 0.7-1.4 is obtained.
