Abstract
A method of producing reinforced concrete articles comprising the operations of: (a) arranging and tensioning a plurality of wires or cables to be assembled in spaced relation to one another, parallel, above a casting bed and in the longitudinal direction of the same; (b) placing each of a succession of molds, in turn, in a position below the wires or cables at one end of the casting bed; (c) raising each of said molds so that the wires and cables are arranged and extend within the mold; (d) moving each of said molds, successively, towards the other end of the bed while the wires or cables are maintained therein, until substantially the entire length of the bed is filled with consecutive molds, each of which contains a individual part of each of the wires or cables; (e) filling the molds with a concrete mixture and allowing the mixture to set and acquire sufficient strength to withstand the prestressing forces induced by the tension in the wires or cables; (f) relieving the wires or cables and cutting them between the molds, and then moving each mold successively to said other end of the bed; (g) lowering each mold in said other end of the bed; and (h) removing each mold lowered from the transport bed to a demolding station.
