Abstract
By means of a single- or multi-stage fractional vacuum distillation, individual haloanthraquinones and/or binary di- and/or trihaloanthraquinone mixtures are concentrated from haloanthraquinone mixtures, after a possible removal of non-volatile impurities. In this process, the mixtures are preferably distilled in a heated rectifier column having an efficacy of 20 to 50 theoretical plates, under a vacuum of 5 to 25 mm Hg and at a reflux ratio of 5:1 to 50:1. By means of the process, important starting materials for dyestuff syntheses are made available again in high purity from hitherto worthless waste products.
