A method of preparing coated support particles that consists of fluidizing a layer of support cores by passing a first gas circulation through said layer; passing a second gas flow through said fluidized layer to produce from it, at least one jet of particles, at least one dividing surface being arranged in said fluidized layer to produce a predetermined cyclical circulation of the particles, causing the particles to move at least in said first jet from the bulk mass of said fluidized layer, being discharged on top of said fluidized layer from at least said jet thus returning to said fluidized layer to be reinjected into said jet at least; and contacting the fluidized support cores and/or the fluidized coated support cores of said fluidized layer with the coating material.
