Abstract
A process for the preparation of moulding compositions for manufactured products is described. The said process is implemented by mixing a) a chlorostyrene polymer having an intrinsic viscosity higher than 0.6 dlg<-1>, measured in toluene at 22 DEG C, with b) a crude graft polymer of chlorostyrene on butadiene rubber, in which the elastomer/chlorostyrene ratio is between 40/60 and 70/30, the components a) and b) being mixed in such a ratio that the polymerised diene content is less than 20 %. The mixtures obtained have properties such as good workability and high impact resistance. Moreover, they are self-extinguishing and show a high heat distortion point.
