Abstract

A paper feed system for a high speed printer, where the line spacing is a predetermined distance, comprising: rotary platen media capable of receiving and feeding paper on which to print, said platen media having manual rotation; stepper motor means coupled to said platen means for advancing said platen means in steps at a rate of four increments for each half line spacing; and gear means coupling said stepper motor means with said platen means, said stepper motor means having a predetermined number of steps per revolution, said gear means providing four equal steps for every four increments, and said means having stepper motor a natural catch every four steps when manually rotated by said manual rotation means.
