Abstract

The installation tests from a remote position a number of amplifier sections connected one after the other. The intermediate amplifiers are remotely fed by a constant D.C. from a final position. The D.C. is interrupted in this end station for a definite short space of time which serves as a control signal for the beginning of the remote testing. This closes loops in the intermediate amplifier stations for both the power supply and signal transmission circuits. These circuit completing loops are disconnected in sequence as testing of the functions of the station are completed, and the location of a fault is ascertained. The test switching is under control of the power supply from the end station.
