Abstract

Treatment apparatus for electrical signals such as those representing the audible coded sounds of the word or the like, said electrical signals being analog representations of said audible sounds with the frequency components of said electrical signals related to a given factor with the frequency components of said audible sounds, characterized by comprising: - a controllable delay device having an input device and an output device, said input device being coupled to a source of said electrical signals to transmit signals from said source to said delay device, and said delay device transmitting the signals containing said output device with a controllable time delay; - means for controlling said delay device with a repetitive variation of said controllable time delay between predetermined delay values, thus progressively delaying the signals when they appear at said outputs to obtain a predetermined frequency transformation of said electrical signals; and - means coupled to said output of said delay device and responding substantially only to the signals of said output having said predetermined frequency transformation to produce a composite output signal representing said electrical signals whose frequency components are substantially altered in said factor to approximate the frequency components of said audible sounds.
