Abstract

Silo has corner pillars composed of several assembled, frontally fastened, steel sheet profiles enclosing a space which is packed with concrete. The packing is a plastics concrete i.e. a compsn. of resin, as binder, and gravel, forming a statically unitary building element together with the steel sheet casing. The resin binder is suitably based on a polyester. The connection of the component steel sheets have a 'play' appropriate to the shrinkage of the concrete compsn.
