A method of preparing a black pigmented halogen-containing vinyl resin composition, which comprises intimately mixing a halogen-containing vinyl resin and a fuel oil furnace carbon black in such a proportion that the carbon black content is between about 0.1 and about 5% by weight of the resin, said carbon black having a specific surface area of less than 350 m2/g, a Nigrometer scale value of less than about 81.5, a degree of dispersion greater than approximately 80 percent and an absorption value of dibutyl phthalate oil comprised between approximately 40 and approximately 150 Kga/l00 Kgs.
