Abstract

A process for preparing an aging resistant polymer composition, characterized by polymerizing, in a free radical polymerization system, a monomer system containing (A) amides having the following structural formula ** (See formula) ** where R3 is an aryl radical, R and R1 are chosen from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl radicals having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and alkoxyl radicals having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R2 is chosen from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl radicals having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxy radicals having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and a radicals having the following structural formula: ** (See formula) ** where R4 is chosen from the group consisting of alkyl radicals having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl radicals having 5 to 12 carbon atoms, aryl radicals having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, and aralkyl radicals having 7 to 13 atoms carbon, and R5 is chosen from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl radicals having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, and where R6 and R7 are alkyl radicals having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R8 is chosen from the group consisting of in hydrogen, alkyl radicals having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, aryl radicals having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, aralkyl radicals having 7 to 13 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl radicals having 5 to 12 carbon atoms, carboxymethyl radical and carbalcomethyl radicals, and R9 is chosen from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl radicals having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, aryl radicals having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl radicals having 5 to 12 carbon atoms arbono, carboxyl radical and carbalcoxilo radicals, (B) imides that have the following structural formula: ** (See formula) ** where R, R1, R2, R3, R6 and R7 are in accordance with that defined in the structural formula (I) and in which R10 and R11 are chosen from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl radicals having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or (C) imides that have the following structural formula: ** (See formula) ** where R, R1, R2, R3, R6 and R7 are in accordance with what is defined for structural formula (I), and where R12, R13, R14 and R15 are chosen from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl radicals having 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
